(Washington, D.C.) - Montana's senior U.S. Senator Max Baucus issued the following statement on the news of a $23,000 donation from The Coalition to Protect the Rocky Mountain Front to support cooperative weed management:
"This is another great example of people working together as stewards of the Rocky Mountain Front. These resources will get boots on the ground in the battle against noxious weeds and support the common efforts of sportsmen, ranchers, farmers and biologists to uphold our outdoor heritage for generations to come."
Baucus is sponsoring the Rocky Mountain Front Heritage Act which prioritizes noxious weed eradication and prevention on designated public lands. To learn more about the bill or to share your thoughts, visit Baucus' Rocky Mountain Front Heritage Act Resource guide online here.
In the same spirit of collaboration, the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Lewis and Clark National Forest recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to team up on coordinating the control and treatment of noxious weeds on the Front.
