(Washington, D.C.) - Montana's senior U.S. Senator Max Baucus announced a major grant for the Shelby Airport today to support construction jobs at the facility while improving efficiency. The $1.8 million grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will support construction of a hangar building along with rehabilitating the taxiway.
"This is a smart investment that will support construction jobs in the short term and bring good-paying jobs to the Hi-Line in the long haul. Reliable transportation infrastructure is a cornerstone of our economy," said Baucus, who successfully fought for a reauthorization of the FAA which faced partial shutdown due to gridlock last summer.
