(Washington) - Montana's senior U.S. Senator Max Baucus announced three more world-renowned business leaders are heading to Montana for the 6th Montana Economic Development Summit coming up September 16th and 17th in Butte.
Baucus added to the influential and inspiring lineup of heavy-hitting keynote speakers announcing the following participants today:
· International businessman and former U.S. Ambassador to China, Jon Huntsman, Jr.
· President and CEO of Ford Motor Company, Alan Mulally
· Delta CEO, Richard Anderson
"The high caliber of our speakers and their excitement about Montana sends the message far and wide: Montana means business. These exceptional leaders are movers and shakers who know how to get things done and I have no doubt they'll help with the mission of the summit: turning handshakes into good-paying Montana jobs," said Baucus.
Jon Huntsman, Jr. is an international businessman who also served as Governor of Utah and U.S. Ambassador to China and Singapore. As Governor of Utah during the national economic recession, Huntsman led the state to the top spot for job creation and earned recognition from the Pew Center as the "Best-Managed State." He is the chairman of the Huntsman Cancer Foundation and is the co-chair of "No Labels" - a growing citizens' movement of Democrats, Republicans and all political affiliations dedicated to promoting a new political model of problem solving.
Alan Mulally led the Ford Motor Company's transformation into a profitably growing automaker serving customers around the world through the One Ford Plan, in what has been referred to as one of the "greatest comebacks in business history." Mulally is a widely respected business leader named by Fortune Magazine as "Businessperson of the Year," one of "The World's Most Influential People" by TIME magazine, one of "The 30 Most Respected CEOs" by Barrons magazine, "Person of the Year" by Financial Times, "Chief Executive of the Year" by Chief Executive magazine, "Person of the Year" by Aviation Week magazine and one of "The Best Leaders" by BusinessWeek magazine.
Richard Anderson is credited with leading Delta to earn Fortune Magazine's "Most Admired Airlines" list. The distinction is a worldwide ranking based on people management, quality of management, innovation, long-term investment, social responsibility, quality of product and services and global competitiveness. Delta is an important partner for Montana businesses providing roughly 50 flights to and from the state daily.
